So I woke up this morning and realised that E3 was literally hours away. What I’d been doing for the past month I don’t know, but I certainly wasn’t writing the post that every-single-gaming-blog writes about E3. As such, this post is coming in HOT!!! Let’s get down to it. What do I want to see at E3? Keeping with the theme, I’m going to … Continue reading Quick Fire E3 Predictions and Hopes
I’ll be totally honest, when Nintendo first announced ARMS I wasn’t enthused. It’s another game in a genre I despise, that uses a control scheme that I hate. And yet to my great surprise, after playing an hour of it last night, I can safely say that I think ARMS has legs. It’s a fun, easy-to-learn-but-hard-to-master romp with a sense of style that is full of potential. … Continue reading ARMS: Very Early Impressions
Remember your childhood? Remember the hours spent avoiding homework? Remember the cries of ‘Dinners ready’ from Mum that you magically didn’t hear? We’ve all got those memories, and Nintendo knows how to sell you those memories over and over again. The NES Mini was always going to sell, but few of us expected it to turn into the must-have item of the festive season. Even … Continue reading The SNES Mini Classic Edition of Editions
We made it. 2016 is a thing of the past, and the good news? 2017 is looking (at least in terms of games), like it might be even better than 2016. Here’s the games I’m looking forward to most…January through June edition. ———– Old Time Hockey – PC/PS4/XBOXONE An odd choice to begin with, but hey, I’m a massive Ice Hockey fan and as a … Continue reading What’s Got Me Excited: January to June
If you, like me were a child of the 90’s (or..very, very late 80’s) the chances are you’ve played on, or owned a Game boy; Nintendo’s rectangle box of joy. In my house, at various points had a bright yellow Game boy, a turquoise Game Boy Colour and at least two frosted GBAs. In short, we grew up playing on them, and whilst the DS has … Continue reading The Super Retro Boy stole CES.
Summer is typically when the world of Video Games comes to a complete and total stop. Game Publishers still fail to realise that they’re most loyal customers are shut-ins who’d rather fritter their summers away in front of a screen than go out and meet new people; learn something or get some Vitamin C. This year has been a touch different though, mainly because the games due out last November got pushed to this May; Batman: Arkham Knight and The Witcher being the most notable, Yoshi’s Woolly World, Rare Replay and Project Cars padded out the console launch line-up whilst smaller-indie darlings like Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture, Volume, Galak-Z and Tembo the Badass Elephant brought gamers a little variety.
New Year celebrations are still a ways off however, so let’s have a look at what I’m excited to get my hands on in the closing months of 2015.
Unless you’ve been living in a cave for the past three weeks, you’ll have noticed that THE NEXT GENERATION IS UPON US!. And whilst this is obviously a very exciting time for gamers and the industry in general; I’d like to turn your attention to a few games coming out in the next few days that are very much worthy of your attention. SUPER MARIO … Continue reading These Games Deserve Your Attention…
